RetailTraxx: Point of Sale for the Barkhamsted Mall
📍 Regional Refuse Disposal District #1 · Barkhamsted, Connecticut
The Barkhamsted Mall needed a register that fit the way a busy reuse store sells: fixed price points, fast lines, and staff who shouldn’t have to think about the software. JP&S Tech built RetailTraxx, a touch-screen point-of-sale system designed entirely around that, and moved over 14,000 past sales from the old register software, verified to the cent.

Every card charge is tagged with the register and receipt number, so the bookkeeper can match it in Square in seconds. Every sale is stamped on the store’s UniFi Protect camera timeline, so any transaction can be pulled up on video. A watchdog restarts the register and emails IT if anything goes wrong, and all registers share one database, so a second station can be added on the same system.

Gatehouse Network Infrastructure: Regional Refuse Disposal District #1
📍 Barkhamsted, Connecticut
JP&S Tech completed a rack-mounted UniFi network deployment at the gatehouse for Regional Refuse Disposal District #1, a municipal transfer station serving Barkhamsted, New Hartford, and Winchester. Everything is cleanly dressed and adopted into UniFi Site Manager for remote management.

Alongside the new infrastructure, JP&S Tech built PassTraxx, a custom customer management and payment system designed specifically for RRDD#1. It’s set to modernize processes that have run the same way for decades, without disrupting how the staff already works.
Together, the new network and PassTraxx are a major step in RRDD#1’s ongoing modernization, and proof of what a small municipal operation can do with the right technology partner.
